That's my favorite lens. I used to have a thread with images, but it seems to be so old it was eaten by the Forum Monster.

Those are all such fine examples of the way lower-contrast classic lenses render the gray scale.

I know it wasn't the purpose of this thread, but now that activity is quiet, I wonder if someone would post some images made with the equivalent CV lens? I'm always interested in seeing the differences between classic & contemporary lenses.

If I was to sell most of my Nikkors and only keep 2 or 3, my W-Nikkor 2.8cm f3.5 would be one of those that stayed. Wonderful little lens! Here's a few shots I took in Berlin last summer with mine.

Great pictures, jonmanjiro, but I think #3 was shot with a 21mm. This type of distortion is not seen with a 28mm.

Thanks Erik. I only had two lenses with me in Berlin, and they were the Millennium Nikkor-S 50mm f/1.4 and W-Nikkor 2.8cm f/4, so #3 was definitely taken with the 2.8cm.

OK, I'm sorry, jonmanjiro, must be my mistake. I'll try to make comparable picture with the W-Nikkor 1:3.5 f=2.8 cm.

I've seen that particular distortion with my 2.8cm. We sometimes forget that in not-so-distantly past eras a 28mm was considered too wide for everyday taste.

Using RF Nikkors on my M9 with an Amedeo adapter.
