No particular reason why I did this. But I powdercoated the top/bottom plate of a Fed 2 and the focus ring of it's 55/2.8.

The ring wasn't the best idea. I didn't realize how far the coating would fil in the little distance number evgravings. I had planned to use an enamel stik to fill them back in (like I will do with the top plate engraving). But now that is less of an option. Such is life.

Again, no particular reason why I did this. It's a camera I never shoot (being a digital whore these days). So it will likely sit on the shelf unless someone wants to trade for it for some reason.

The color seems a bit off on this computer. The pink is actually brighter. I think "save for web" has screwed me once again.

where oh where did you get that done?
Robert,

Hummm no need to use flash with that camera! ehehehe

I am currently smelling the paint from my Fed 2. I am doing a more traditional black paint job... Hope it wont look too bad for me to post it on "Cameras and coffee" thread 🙂

Regards,

Sergio

Robert,

I did it myself. I powdercoat all sorts of stuff. I had considered doing some sort of metalic fleck. But I wanted to go overboard and pink it up.

Leopard skin would really top it all off.

where did you get the stuff?

where did you get the stuff?

Ya know for a bike geek like me this is a valuble thing where did you get the material and how does it go over to do it in your oven at home?

You wouldn't want to do it in any oven you were cooking food in. Drop me an email and we can talk more about it.

Too bad. Others might be interested as well.

I just said that because he lives near me and he was asking about bike parts, which has little to do with RF photography.

To learn about powdercoating, google is a better teacher than me anyway.

Looks Charming. But what don't paint the Leather too?
I had watch a pic at web. Whole machine are pink........More Charming
Wanna a try?

When I lived in San Francisco in the 60's we used to get our cars stolen pretty often. My Mustang convertable was stolen 3 times in less then a year. So we all started painting them wierd colors so we could get them back easier, but no one stole them after we painted them.

Like I said before, the person here who can learn to do this as well as Shintaro, but for more reasonable rates, will have a looonngg waiting list. 😉
