please help me fight this terrible GAS attack,

I have 35, 50, 85 lenses and have lived happily until now, but I have a chance to buy a CV 25mm and I can't resist... ;)

I know I don't use this focal length that much. On RF as well as SLR I tend to use 35 the most. Only when I can't back off any further I use 28mm and I feel like I'm using an ultra-wide.

It seems I don't need it at all, but then ... it's attracting me so much :bang:

So, any suggestions why I DON'T need the lens? ;)

Nope - I'm fighting the same compulsion. Even left a bid on ebay but was outbit narrowly.

Arguments against - not used that often, needs separate viewfinder, more gear to carry.
Arguments for: I want one!!!!

Actually one thing holding me back is that the 21mm might be a better step from the 35mm which I already have.

I'm sorry to inform you: You do need one. The non-rangefinder coupled 25mm's sold by CV were superb and inexpensive (as far as RF lenses go). I own one and love it. They are actually a bargain. Get the matching finder if you can -- not actually essential, but useful!

you dont need it. you already have a cv35 and J-12.

as we all know - two wide angle lenses are wider than one,
(focal length / # of lenses + 5mm) so 35/2+5 = 22.5mm

ahhh... forget it and buy it, if you can.

You must be an actuary.

:bang: :bang: :bang:

I can have it for a good price with the finder. It's almost unused and like new.

The good price I'm talking about is about €180. But I need to get my car repaired and this lens would just eat all my money. :bang: And I'd have to find me a job...

And I don't need it. I don't need it. I don't... :D

Well, then don't look back. Priorities are priorities, I always think when I see something that I "must have" that I will see it again sometime in the future. Ebay has proven me right every time so far.

This is not ebay... this is my friend selling it. I can put my hands on it before buying... that's the most tempting thing about it all... no shipping, money transfers. And I know it's like new :( :bang:  Why me, oh why...

Then tell him to sell it to someone far away so you don't have to see it all the time and think "Only if."

You don't need this lens because though you can have it, you don't need it. Some self-control goes a long way.

Two thoughts about this, Spyderman.
1: you don't need this lens because you really need a 21mm.
and
2: someone here at RFF may need a 25mm lens...
