Hi all

Looking for some help..

I'm thinking about changing from an Epsom v500 to the plustek 8100 as I shoot pretty much exclusively with 35mm black and white.

I have a new Mac that runs on 'sierra 10.12.1' The specs for the 8100 say it goes to 10.8... are any of you using the plustek with Mac sierra?

Any help hugely appreciated!

Yes, it will work on all versions of OSX. I'd recommend buying Vuescan, which makes this scanner much faster and easier to control.

For B&W, the 8100 is a fantastic scanner! I preview at 600 dpi and scan at 4,000 dpi, which gives me super high-res, 48 Mb TIF files.

I actually use both Silverfast and VueScan. I don't find VueScan any faster, but I prefer its User Interface and that it permits me to create "dng" files which integrate better with Capture One.

Otherwise, everything said here seems right from what I have experienced.
