Hi all,
Is it my computer but some of the words are in blue and I'm getting
pop-ups sometimes, is it a Google Chrome thing or other.

sounds like ad aware. I would run spybot or something similar.

no, I checked Firefox no pop-ups, it's Google Chrome their sticking pop-ups
everywhere now. Everyone should check theirs as well.

My chrome is fine but now I'm wondering if anyone is experiencing the same issue.

I noticed it this morning, certain words would be in blue and when you
would click on them you end up on another site, plus there's pop-up ads.
It's just Google way of getting more ads in your face, which I don't need.

i hate to be a pita but...why would you post this in a forum called 'rangefinder general discussion'?
it has nothing to do with rangefinders!
i moved it to 'provide your feedback' which is about website issues...

Try the Ghostery plug-in for Chrome. http://www.ghostery.com/download
It should eliminate the problem. The highlighted links are a feature of "VigLink" being used on this forum to monetize links: http://www.viglink.com/
I'm running Ghostery (on Safari) and VigLink is the only script shown to be running on this site. In contrast, other forums have many more. FM has about 8 or so, including SkimLinks, which is a similar feature.
You can't really blame the site's owner for doing this, since it is a 'free' forum yet costs money to keep running. But you do have options to eliminate these extraneous features. Ghostery (and similar) is quite useful for revealing just how much some sites (or third party scripts hosted by the site) track their user's browsing habits...
