Progress is made at Film Ferrania. The modernisation of the LRF building (the new R&D and production building) is now finished. The preparation steps of the production can now be started:

And more background information in this detailed interview with the founders:

Edit:
It is planned to introduce the following colour reversal films in the short and mid term:
64D, 100D, 200D, 400D and 640T, P800/3200T. That is the main focus /priority.

The second focus is colour negative film: 100D, 200D, 400D.

There are more and more signs for a film revival.

My entire career as a filmmaker has been at a virtual standstill thanks to Kodak...have been trying color neg and having a real hard time warming up to it. The thought of color reversal, let alone in several speeds, gives me goosebumps and butterflies in my stomach.:D

I`ve never warmed to colour neg either ....this new range of reversal films is welcome news.

Positive news from Film Ferrania

As far I am informed end March beginning of April 2016 the first E-6 film should be available. ;)

That's excellent! As you are in the business, nice to see it kick in soon.

It's a boon that they are so flexible in manufacturing and having 64, 200 which are sort of "niche" speeds out of the 100, 400 envelope. The former will be great for cine cameras.

Will see how I can get it, sadly my local E6 infrastructure disappeared about 3 months ago according to a camera store. There's a lab processing manually at 25€ per roll. Will send it out however, and will buy online.

It seems to have been a while since announcements about Ferrania's film production plans.

Maybe I have missed them, in which case I apologise.

I know there have been delays in getting the production plant and chemicals back in working order.

Does anyone have any news? I certainly hope it is good news.

I've been following their Kickstarter updates and really do believe they are positive. Delayed, but positive. Perhaps some time in 2017 we might see some photographs taken with their film. I'm hoping that's so...

Once they get going and the film starts making the rounds and we get some sample images I'd probably start shooting slide film. It's been a really long time since I've shot slide.

Go over to APUG and follow the long thread there in the “industry news” sub-forum. Ferrania has been very active in posting updates, the latest being yesterday.
