You must have mentioned this book before somewhere in RFF as it seems that i have a pdf copy of it on my computer. I have added reading it on my "to do list".

It was the favorite book of Henri Cartier-Bresson, it was given to him by Braque, the cubist painter. I see in my shot above like you all kinds of compositorial (cubistic?) effects, such as the two women and the bicycle just in front of horizontal and vertical lines (crossroads) and the chimney of the ship just within the frame of the picture. More than just a coincidence. I didn't see it wile shooting. A good composition makes an image a "whole".
