I’m trying to understand a pre-war Meyer-Optik Görlitz Tele-Megor 25cm f/5.5 in Exakta mount (circa 1939). The focusing helicoid works normally, but the lens only has aperture markings — there is no distance scale or depth-of-field engraving at all. The finish in the area where the scale would normally be looks uniform, not removed.

It also has a short rear cylindrical section that appears to be secured with small screws (I’m not certain whether it is screwed on or threaded), plus the original hood. When visually compared to photos of other pre-war Tele-Megor examples, the proportions of some barrel sections appear slightly different. Other examples from roughly the same period that I have seen online have full distance engravings.

Has anyone encountered a factory version like this, or know what intended use it may have been supplied for?

I’ve attached five photos: four views around the full circumference of the lens and one showing the 15-blade diaphragm.
