Started using Hypo Agent with film and FB paper. Does it really matter if I pre-wash the film/paper after fixing, or is it just a matter of preference one may have in his/her darkroom. As always thanks to all for the insight and advice.

Film. Use Ilford method and non hardening fix. No clearing agent. If you insist, it is supposed to get a full wash first and then a second.
Prints. Use film strength fix, 60 sec bath one and 60 in bath two. 15 sec rinse and then toner, then 20 min wash. If you do not let it soak in fix, clearing bath is not required. Selenium toner will not stain if there is a lot of fix in paper, but if you wash before it has to be a full archival wash. Always tone for permanence.
