With a car I know that when it's three years old it's worth about 50% of the new price. More or less.

Is there a similar rule of thumb for cameras? Not the rare stuff, or the rubbish, but recent mainstream.

Specifically a Voigtlander with lens and trigger winder. A couple of years old, used regularly but not thrashed, and never dropped or bashed. No abnormal wear, and functions perfectly. All boxes and manuals included.

I see so few of these for sale I really don't know what it's 'worth'.

I'm at a point where I could sell and upgrade if the sale price is right. Or I could stay with the Voigtlander and add to the system instead.

Can anybody more experienced in buying and selling give me any guidelines please?
