printing old negatives

Recently I found in my mothers house a box with negatives more than 50 years old, almost all 120 film. I've started to print the best of them, wich were made by Hans de Klonia, an old friend of my parents. He died last year. His pictures prove that he was a gifted photographer. He used only one camera, a Rolleicord. I do not know wich type it was.

This picture shows me when I was 2 years old (1956). I was fascinated by the camera. I've printed the negative with my Focomat IIc.

Rolleicord, Agfa-film, silvergelatineprint.

amazing find. could have just been taken yesterday from the quality of the picture.
Was it in any archival sleeve or envelope.

No, the negatives were put together without any protection. It took me quite some time to retouch the print and, after scanning, to retouch them digitally in PS.
However, the soft tone of the Focomat IIc was helpful to cover the inperfections of the negatives.

Eric - cute at 2! there i a quality of the old negatives that I find a bit lacking in modern films, yes they are usually sharper, more contrast etc - but a bit too technical and a bit soul-less. The old Agfa films has a special look to them. Somewhere in my files there are some Agfa from the early 60's. I agree, they store better than the Kodak ones too.
Now, the other question is how many pictures taken with todays digital wonder cameras will be available in 50+ years?

I admire your printing process a lot, always a joy to look at. Impressive.
