Friday night I was using my Bessa R2S, I shot the 5th roll that I've run through it since buying it two weeks ago. At the bar (perhaps key to the issue) I loaded another roll and proceeded to take pictures. After loading I did everything I always initially do (wind the rewind knob until the film is pulled tight, then watch it spin as I advance a few frames). I took pictures all even, at one point finding myself in the middle of a flash mob which I dutifully photographed after calling the police.
At around frame 37 I became concerned (I only shoot rolls of 24). Apparently I had loaded the film incorrectly, I thought. After developing the film I see that the first 4 pictures I that were shot exposed and advanced perfectly; the fifth if a hideous multi-exposure.
My questions is: Can anyone think of what might have caused this, aside from me accidently/drunkenly pressing the rewind button release at some point? I use the "side-grip" on the camera, so this button is very difficult to press inadvertently. The camera appears to load fine now, but I'm wondering if anyone else has has any type of intermittent advance/cocking issues. I've never had this problem before with any camera.
Thanks for anyone's suggestions, and my apologies in advance if this is a moronic question.
