I have an old polaroid 8x10 processor that was goven to me a long time ago. I never used it because I could never afford the film for it, and I recently dug it out and decided to ebay it. I wanted to test it before putting it up for sale, but I cant get it to work. I don't have any film to use with it so I just put the film holder in the processor as the instructions say and push the process button to see of the motor comes on and such...nothing happens. Is it broken or will it just not activate unless there is actual film in the holder?

It's a very simple thing. You just push the button and the motor runs. It doesn't matter if the holder or tray is in there, at least not on my processor. There are a few versions, but I don't know that they are different in this respect. It wouldn't harm anything if you ran the processor without film in it, so I don't see why they would have added a switch to be sure there is film in the processor.

Good luck selling it. I can't imagine there's much demand at this point. I've got 12 sheets of Type 809 left, and then if Fuji doesn't come up with a replacement, I guess I'll try to find some alternate use for it.

Thanks David. Mine must be broken then, since the motor will not go on when I push the button. It was given to me so no big loss. I guess I'll just toss it out.
