I have acquired a Franka Solida IIIe with a Prontor S shutter and the aperture lever is rather wide. Which edge of the lever do I use to set against the f-stop number? It would only cost me an f-stop or so if I'm wrong, but I might as well have it right!

I have the same shutter on a Voigtlander Perkeo. I would use the side with the yellow arrow as shown in your photo. You can check this by looking through the back of the camera and noting when the the aperture blades begin to close, and note the relation to the location of the indicator arm on the aperture scale. it should line up. I also noted my shutter will close to f 22 though only f16 is indicated. I see yours is marked to f22 which would make sense to me.

I agree; its the straight edge where the yellow arrow is pointing.

Many thanks for those replies; appreciated. I shall use the 'yellow' edge.
