Recently we congratulated Denis on the good fortune of having a some of his very fine photographs selected for exhibition. This morning I had the opportunity to also experience some of those good feelings. The NOAA Fisheries Office of Protected Resources requested permission to use some of my sea turtle images on their upcoming revised website. It was quite an honor to be selected, and gratifying to be contributing to a very worthy cause.

But were they taken with a rangefinder? I may have to revoke the congrats if not. Kidding, way to go!

I'm going to defer to Frank S for an opinion on that (because I believe that he stated a favorable response in an earlier thread;), sort of like "doctor shopping" ). They were shot with a Nikonos III and a "dual ocular" rangefinder -- which is my poor eyesight and underwater guesstimates:D

Denis: yes, it's a "warm fuzzy' feeling and a real honor.

Congratulations, D2! It's a very nice feeling indeed.

I had a pic published this year too -- an out of the blue thing. Got contacted by the group that does the Telus SuperPages (like yellow pages) and they were interested in some of my Port Credit shots as a potential cover for this year's Mississauga (Ont) directory. I sent them some and they picked one. So ... I have my pic on the cover of a phone directory :)

The pic was digital not RF, so I guess it doesn't count ... but the nice cheque they sent me allowed me to get a fabulous macro lens for my DSLR :D

Congratulations to both of you, Honu- and Gene! I had a photo published too... but uncredited. I'm talking with the author of an article so that the magazine runs a bit of a text informing whose shot of Barcelona protesters they must have admired...

Now, I guess we're professionals now!

Also, allow me to toot my horn: I submitted a tip for self-portraits to Popular Photography... and they sent me a check for $25 to use it "in an upcoming issue"!

Talk about vindication  ... ;)

Most of the stuff I get published is in corporate literture, trade magazines, or on the web. But I recently has a 6 page spread with about 40 photos published in a magazine that I could walk into just about any bookstore and buy off the newstand. The photos were no big deal because I've been published before. But having an article I wrote, 6 full pages, and the lead cover story was very cool for me! This was run about two months ago.

Here is the opening two page spread

Congratulations, Stephen. That's an incredible photo spread and really cool to have your article published as well as the photos. Nice work!
