purchasing leica screwmounts

that was the first place i thought of, however in the classified section i do not see any. perhaps you could be more specific. (as i see nothing designated for sales).

Just check it periodically, they come up often, but sell.

Keh has plenty of different LTM camera up now, and a decent selection of lenses as well.

I've got a near mint IIIf BD that I'll be listing here after the new year. Stay tuned... I'll be out of contact for the next week or so, but PM me, if you're interested in first dibs.

I recommend the "wanted" section of the classifieds. I come across lots of Japanese LTMs and generally feel more inclined to sell here than deal with the `bay.

If you don't like eBay, stick around here, be a little bit patient, and you will find some beauties at reasonable prices - guaranteed! There usually are several listed per month - Leica's and higher quality Japanese Leica compatible cameras (typically Canon).

Personally, I'd recommend KEH. I've had great luck with their items, and they have many Leica and Canon LTM bodies for well under $200. Many are "Bargain" condition, but even their "Bargain" items often in very nice condition.

They show up in the classifieds here at RFF, and have generally been used for photography. A good chance that the seller can post pictures taken with the camera.

Check camera forums, such as nelsonfoto.com and others as well. You want to get one that is shown to work.

KEH is also great to deal with, and takes returns. If there is a hidden flaw, you are out postage but not the purchase amount.

Hmmm...
ya know.. the prices @ Collectible aren't that bad.

Are those cameras all "serviced" and ready to go or are they "as is" - it would add a bit of comfort compared to the standard Ebay ads that claim that the seller knows nothing about the camera and it's T.S. if it doesn't work once you get it.

Cheers,
Dave

That's excellent advice and matches my experience. I got my IIIc from another member here.

Dave, I needed the Summitar that came with the IIIf from Collectibles serviced by Youxin. The aperture ring was very gummy and stiff. Not stated in the ad. I paid a lot for the IIIf/Summitar combo but didn't mind as the set was basically mint. I asked them to knock the price down a bit and I think they took $100 off. 🙂

BTW - Don't get Collectible Cameras mixed up with these guys 😀. One man's "tible" is another man's "table".
