Pushing in xtol - advice needed

I've pushed Neopan to 1600 with Xtol and the results were excellent ... from memory I used it at 1+1 for twelve minutes at twenty degrees. Ten or eleven minutes should be enough for 800 I'd think.

Hi Keith, I'm planning on pushing HP5+ to 1600 in the XTOL.

Basically I'm just wondering if the the amount of agitation change when push processing?

Or should one just follow the standard of 30 seconds of continuous agitation after immersion, followed by ten seconds per minute?

Benjamin,

If you are using the times on the massive dev chart (linked above) it will be noted if another system of agitation is necessary. Otherwise you can assume that you can indeed just use standard agitation.

Cluckey.

P.S. I think so anyway 😉

Hi Benjamin,

From memory when I pushed HP5 to 1600 I agitated for the first thirty seconds then two inversions per minute on the minute for the rest of the time ... I think HP5 is superb at 1600 with Xtol 1+1.

thanks everyone.

i'm going to shoot a boring grey card, color chart and black and white terry cloth towels at 400 with N processing and 800 with +1 (whatever that turns out to be) processing. i'll post the results at some point. gotta give back to fellow rff'ers ya know.
