Hello, first off appreciate any help anyone can give!
Picked up an "untested" QL17 that has turned out not to be in the best condition. I have a bit of repair experience but don't want to get too far here and miss an easier solution..
Shutter works perfectly.
Aperture seemed to work. I would change the dial, nothing would change, but when I fired the shutter it would change aperture size. That worked for awhile then the aperture stuck.
The big issue has been the focus ring. At first it was completely stuck, as in no movement whatsoever. Tried heating it, tried lighter fluid. Seemed to be loosening, then suddenly it snapped and jumped about 1cm, but the lens didn't move at all. So now its at about .8m focus (by testing in viewfinder), but can be set up to about 1.5m although the lens doesn't actually move so its still actually focused to .8m.

Am at the point now with the lens (still on the plate) removed from the body. I can't remove the rectangle hood from the back of the lens though because the screws seem to be blocked, I'm assuming because its stuck and the lens can't move in or out.
I need to get a spanner tool to continue, but am I right in thinking the focus helicoil is stuck? I'm learning as I go here, so not really sure. Also I'm aware I likely broke something in the focus ring..hoping I can just spot that and fix it at some point
