I noticed that 95% of the wobble was from where the lens inserts into the focus ring. Therefore, I cut some 1/32 strips of felt fabric from Jon Goodman's seal kit and carefully tucked them between the focus ring and the lens barrel (be sure to lick the adhehisive as Jon recommends to allow time to adjust placement). I used one strip about 2/3 of the way around the barrel, then doubled the material by tucking in some shorter strips where there was the most clearance. I was able to neutralize 90% of the wobble, and the focus ring is perhaps only 10% snugger to turn. We'll see how it holds up in the field.

All the best,

Michael

I just used my early Electro G again tonight. It only goes to ASA 500. But the build quality is the best of the Electros I have had. No wobble at all in the lens. Everything is nice and tight.

Except the pad of death I replaced. And I believe I put in a color Yashinon front lens element due to fungus in the original

Let's see, serial number 90569155, made in Japan, not Hong Kong. Not an outsourced model, I guess.
