Hi, i´m so tempted about the C sonnar 50mm, but please can anyone tell me the distance from flange to top?

I tried to find something on internet but didn´t find such info.

Thanks in advance!

Hi, thanks but i saw the data sheet and specs, but can´tell for sure if it´s dimension from flange to top or overall length.
In one part they say 63mm (caps) and then 45mm?¿

On leica website they state distance from flange to top in every single lens, very clear.

So please measure it up!

Hi, thank you very much!

I´m in chile, very far away, so the only possibilty to know something about equipment is if some friend has one or help from you!

Bye!

Nice and compact. But the hood adds quite a bit to the depth. My big hands like the hood on the lens but others have chaffed. To me the sonnar and hood makes my M2 the nicest balanced rangefinder/lens combo I've ever used. Not that I've used a lot of different lenses. Still though, huge ergonomic points from me.

The C is for classic or compact. It is certainly more compact than the Summilux I first had on my M2. See my avatar. I agree with Kemal about the balance. It feels great on the M5 too.

Of all my 50's ( and i have an inordinate amount of them!) - the 50 C Sonnar gets the most use! It has the best rendition of any 50 in black/white - there is a "creaminess" (how is that for technical term - that none of my other 50's have. The 50f1.4 Asph Lux is sharper, the Nokton 50f1.5 is a bit more contrasty and the Millennium 50f1.4 is also sharper - but they are all like "technical" lenses compared to the C Sonnar 50. It is also compact - even with the hood. I like it so much that I have both M and Nikon Rf mount versions of it.

Hi, great advice indeed!🙂

Today i ordered a black sonnar, speed, attitude and small size!!!

I sold my venerable V2 50mm lux because it sat on the shelf most of the time.

Can´t wait to start shooting with this lens.

I really like zeiss lenses!!!!

Bye and Happy new year!!!!
