Anyone of you have any idea what is that "new snapshot mode" designed for "tight reportage?" It looks interesting...
Thanks.
Is it that red "S" you can see on top time dial instead of 1/8000s ?

With one flick of the dial it sets auto exposure (aperture priority), auto white balance, and auto iso. More for snapshots than "reportage".

Turns the camera into a digital point & shoot, albeit with manual focusing (ach, what a pain!

Might be quite handy for streetshooters. Go hyperfocal and be fast.

The cool thing is that you can set the iso rang as you like.

Since this camera is aimed at collectors who know nothing about shooting, it lets them use their $7K camera as a point and shoot. What a laugh. Leica has definitely run out of ideas.

I am confused about the "point and shoot" part. How can this be when you have to select aperture and manually focus the lens? Isn't this a more complicated aperture priority, which most dSLR owners probably use?

I beg to differ. It still leaves the Aperture Priority and Manual modes intact, and it is an additional feature for those who want it. For those who do not, just skip it. It is like saying that a P&S with manual mode is now a professional camera just because it has settings for the shutter and aperture.
