Hi guys.. let me asked here also something that I noticed only recently and handn't never minded before.

As you know, F6 has an inner device who shots through the lens a beam of (infra)red light (visible only if you stare at the front lens, or within the viewfinder, not outside) when in low-light environment, to help focusing.

(Note: you might disagree with me and of course say there's nothing like this, still I see a red light when in very low light through the viewfinder, which is not the focusing sensor)

A few weeks ago I bought an old flash and when trying it, I noticed that the red light beam was not centered on the central sensor but offset below the bottomest one. At first I thought it was the flash and didn't mind of that. In the end I had bought a new but 20-years old flash for a few money, so I thought it was ok.

Today I was in a church with the same flash (which was OFF and NOT on camera) and noticed the same thing the beam of infrared light wasn't aimed at the central sensor but (keeping the camera in the vertical position) at the right side of the rightmost sensor (which is otherwise usually the bottomest one). Now here comes the question, I haven't noted many missed shots in the past but I'd like to know from you if also your F6 behaves like that or if I have to send in for a check. I think that the infrared beam should be in fact aimed to the central part of the image, not the bottomest / rightmost one.

I forgot to tell you I have an L-type screen (which has split-image and microprisms too) mounted on the camera: maybe the beam is deviated from that?

Thanks in advance.

Well, this must be really "strong" because I saw it on the wall almost 20 meters from me if no more... But why only in certain cases? In the end it was OUTSIDE of any focusing sensor.. (especially not that I was using) ?!
