Hi Folks,
A while back, I bought a Fed 3B from ePrey. I used this vendor before, and he seemed to sell excellent gear that he CLA's before putting up for sale.
Anyway, I was actually interested in the I-61 lens, but the bonus was a CLA'ed Fed 3B body attached to it
.
When I received it, I did a cursory check of all cosmetics and functions, and all appeared fine. When I finally had time to look at it more carefully, and was about to load some film to try it out, I noticed that when cocked, the shutter had a rather obvious hole smack dab in the middle of it that had been repaired. Unfortunately, the repair was not complete because I noticed light coming through the shutter.
I emailed the vendor and explained the situation, and I waited to see what he had to say about it. He said that it was an easy fix to dab some "special" paint on it, and that he would send me a vial of it. I agreed because I didn't really want to ship the camera all the way back to the Ukraine for a refund (it wasn't offered anyway).
So I received the vial of paint, and I applied it yesterday. I was wondering how long I should wait before I use the camera? It seems to be holding up after a few shutter clicks this morning. And should I let it dry longer while cocked, or uncocked? Or does it matter anymore?
I realize that this is a temporary fix at best, but if I can get some use out of this camera before a shutter replacement, I will be happy. Like I said, everything else about it seems to be in excellent condition.
As you may have seen from previous post in the Bessa Forum, I already tested the I-61 on my Bessa R with great results.
Thanks,
Warren

Thanks Greyhoundman!
I'll wait another 12 hours or so before I mess with it anymore.
