Does anyone here using the the R-D1 with the Leica Summicron C 40mm F2 (the lens that comes with the Leica CL)?

I just want to know if it's compatible in overall like focusing, viewfinder or any common issues about it?

Thank you

It was my main lens - no focusing issues, it worked well, is very compact and fits 35mm framelines without a problem - altho personally i found it a little long as a main focal length.

The Minolta twin

I have the Minolta twin, the M-Rokkor 40/2 build for the CLE. It is awesome on the RD1. No focus problems and SHARP from edge to edge.

One of my favourites on the R-D1. Seems to be made for it. Fits better the 35mm framelines than 35mm lenses. Same IQ as the pre-asph Summicron-M 35/2 IV 'King of bokeh'.

R-D1 w/ 40mm Summicron C; don't recall aperture, but usually used 3.5-4.0 in these situations.

Hi,

I use it as my main lens with my R-D1..very sharp and small..and good for both portraits and landscapes..here are some pics taken with it..

I have focus problems with mine so i don't use it any more unfortunately. Otherwise it is very close to the Summicron indeed.
