I picked up a R-D1s recently here and have been slowly getting used to the camera. I had this recent shot that surprised me with the moire. Is this typical? (Sorry about the poor shot...the sky cleared and I dashed out the back door of my office to grab a few quick shots of something that wasn't white or grey :D)

OK what am I missing here ??? The pic shows when I post, but when I come back later there's only the red x. I'm attempting to post a link to an image in my pbase account?

Interesting, after I edit a post, the pic shows up again.

The page itself is not the photo; you need to link the photo itself with BBCode:

Ha! Why, you're right. Well, they're a clever bunch; they don't want their images hotlinked and they've found a dynamic way to do it.

A rare occurence of moiré is rather a good thing, it shows that the antialiasing filter does not kill the sensor resolution. The R-D1 can show some moiré, in very rare occasions. Never a real problem. You can correct it easily by selecting the area and selectively altering colours' saturations.

Thanks aldobonnard. I hadn't seen this before (or since) and since it's relatively rare I'm happy. It's also good to know how to correct it in PP. My attempts were a dismal failure.

Weird. I hotlink all the time to other sites (but not recently). If they do this, it greatly diminishes the value of the account to me, since half the time I'm hotlinking to a B&S listing.
