OK, I searched and it came back with nothing. I can't believe that and am sure this has beeen hashed out here several times. So I am sorry in advance for this thread but I have some questions that need answering. I have a Bessa R with CV35 1.7, Juper3, CV 75 2.5 and jupeter 9 (that I don't use since the 75). I am not thrilled with the build on the R although it has not let me down. I believe the newer bodies have a better build??

I also can't focus the R worth a darn anymore. It is fine, it is my eyes, I need bright sunlight to see anything. I was hoping the R3M would help me here with it's viewfinder. Of course I would rather see the 35 frameline instead of the 40. Is that a big deal or can the 35 work on the R3M (outside of finder instead of lines)?

I am assuming any screw adapter is fine since the framelines are slected via switch? So since I have only screw now just get one adapter and leave it there.

Thanks for the info, Griz.

I have R3A. viewfinder is really LARGE and brigtht.
but it has some design flaw - RF patch disappears sometimes on bright sun and against certain textures (you need to try to tilt camera in various directions to get it back)

35mm lens is OK on R3 as far as you can guess frame borders approximately.

correct

Griz, I recently switched from a Bessa R to a Bessa R3A. The body build is better, but I don't think the VF is any brighter than the R. The 1:1 viewing of the R3 perhaps makes focusing a little more accurate for 35/40/50 but I don't see much difference in the RF patch. I suspect if you're having difficulty focusing the R, the same will hold true for the R3 (or R2 for that matter).

Thanks for the replies. Well, I have the R in my hands now and I really can't figure it. I have no problems inside but seem to loose it outside from time to time. It the newer bodies are not going to give me any better view then I guess I'l stick with what I have.....Griz

Any screw adapter will work for all lenses. As your vision is a problem, you should consider correction -- either a "diopter" or a special pair of glasses -- or a visit to an ophthalmologist. Since cataract surgery almost two years ago, I no longer need any correction for camera viewfinders. Can't read the small lettering on cameras and lenses without glasses, of course.

Are you sure you don't have a finger or two dragging in front of the rangefinder window?

Cheers!
