Hiya guys!

So, its R3 vs R4. My first two lenses I'm going to have are the 21/4P and the 40/1.4SC. My Q:

R3 + 21 + external 21VF + 40 and 1:1 VF...

vs

...R4 + 40mm-uses-35VF + 21-native-in-VF?

(decoded)...is the 1:1 VF on the R3 going to be a bigger benefit than no VF for 21 (and no RF coupling if I get an ext-VF)?

I am guessing that the 40 would be my primary lens generally as I've been living comfortably with that viewpoint (and have come to love it over 50mm)...and I'd like my best-chance at focusing biggest-and-brightest with 1:1.

I don't wear eyeglesses and unless I'm tired my eyesight is super good (for now!). Low light is definitely my thing but I am also coverting over to M-mount because of the disasterous realities of Canon EOS and wides!

I appreciate any advice! This is the only issue I have with the system...I can't pick them up and try each one side-by-side!

The r3 plus external finder I think would serve better, since it's got the real 40 frameline, and with the greater rf magnification, should focus the fast 40 with more ease in low light. (I should say allow your eyes to detect correct focus with more ease..)
You may wind up with a 75 one day too, super on the r3..
The 21 gets zone focused anyway most of the time i'd think, plus if you already have the finder, then there you go.
Plus the r4 costs a little more.
