R3A vertical patch alignment, how much is too much?

I've noticed my R3A RF patch is off vertically by a bit for subjects 10 meters away but ok for subjects ~3 meters and closer. At ~10 meters away with my eye at a level that produces the brightest patch, there is a vertical offset of about 2-2.5cm of the actual subject. Is this normal? How easy is it to adjust the vertical alignment myself?

Mine was vertically misaligned, too, but I can't remember if it varied by focus distance. I had it adjusted and it is now perfect throughout its range. Even small misalignments drive me crazy.

Try a search for this topic and you should come up with a few good threads. Eye position seems to play a large part in the perceived alignment because of the very large viewfinder. If that doesn't solve it then there's also a lot of threads about vert. adjustment, including one that goes step by step with pictures, if I remember correctly.

Ahh, ok. Found the RD-1 thread with the instructions. I've tried moving the camera and moving my eye but I can't seem to line up the patch. I will try adjusting it tonight.
