None of the 'shacks around here have ever had them in stock or successfully ordered them for me. Be nice if that has changed though, so good luck!

I called my local store to see if maybe they had it in stock. He didn't but said he could order it no problem.

I notice the page says "Web only." It would be unfortunate if they couldn't order it into a store, but that very well may be the case.

I wonder if 6V cilinder-shaped batteries are so rare ? I recently bought kodak's 28L which is 6V, w/ spring and 10 min. labour fits perfectly. There are counterparts from Varta, Sanyo etc. RadioShack doesn't list dimensions - is this alkaline battery same size as original mercury one, which would be another reason to use it instead of lithium version ?

I assume that this battery is the same size as the original. But before I found this I had already ordered the adapter from yashica guy and I have the Canon AE-1p which uses the same 6v battery so i'm using that and it works well for me.

* Perfect as a replacement or back-up for your camera battery
* Compatible with many classic Yashhica Electro Model film cameras as well as others

LOL... am I seeing things? "Compatible with many classic Yashhica Electro (sic) film cameras" - this line appears in ad copy in 2007, like it's 1977?
I have an adapter, but great find!
