My R-D1 rangefinder seems to be a bit out of whack at infinity, not sure why, it doesnt line up horizontally. Close focus is spot on though. Tried the adjustment screw through the hotshoe route, but it was glued down and I'm not quite confident to remove the top plate myself, so any1 know when I can get it done quick ?

After a phone call, Leica at Milton Keynes did mine while I waited last year. Took about 10 minutes. Might also be worth trying your local Leica dealer, in case technicians do the rounds?

Still trying to See.
Before you decide on the day trip to Milton Keynes I should have another go through the hotshoe. With a good quality screwdriver of the right size properly engaged in the slot the 'glue' should just come away with a little force that will not damage the screw head. This is unless it has been previously stuck down with the wrong locktight?
Leica is here in Milton Keynes: http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.s...srf&searchp=newsearch.srf&ax=484405&ay=236911
and Milton Keynes is junction 14 off the M1 almost midway between London & Birmingham: http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.s...srf&searchp=newsearch.srf&ax=484405&ay=236911
