Can someone tell me what this goes to? I have an F and a Bronica S2. It may be a RFDR lens.

It's a lens for use with either a Nikon rangefinder focus housing (weird stepping stone to SLRs) or a Nikon F-mount camera using an N-F adapter. Fairly late lens, intro'd in 1959 or '60, with a preset aperture diaphragm. About 650 made.

Interesting place. The prices they get for stuff is all over the map. F2s seem high, 2020s seem low. Wonder how they got that one piece?
They have a 5.8cm 1.4 that looks VERY EARLY with caps and case.

B2,
It's not THAT early!
Considering this lens started from 140001
As a matter of fact it's kinda mid production

One focal question for those who alredy experienced my doubts:
I have recently got a beatiful RF NIKON S2 to side my digital equipment, and renew the fun to take pictures the way we use to in the 60's. Side by side with the 50mm, 35mm and 135mm lens equipment I should need a wide angle lens for my architectural shots. Would some of you suggest me the best choice available on the market? Of course in terms of technical value end cost! I own also a 21/4 Color Skopar (screw mount on a Bessa L), do you know if it's possible to get an adapter ring for my NIKON S2? Thanks for answer.

Fabio;
The Color Scopar is available in Nikon S-mount also from Cameraquest - great lens, I have used it a lot of my S2 & S3!

You cannot adapt the screw mount lens to the Nikon S-Mount. You can buy a new one in S-Mount. Anything wider than 35mm is cheaper to buy new.

Thanks Jon and thanks Brian,
I hoped to save my screw mount Skopar on both cameras...anyway.
Then, do you value that a new Skopar Nikon S-mount should be the best choice, less expensive than an original Nikon 21/4 or a Biogon 21/4,5 ?
Thanks again. Fabio

It is a fraction of the cost of the Nikkor. Only 500 or so of those made. The Zeiss goes for ~$1,000.

Like Brian said,
the Nikkor 2.1cm f4 costs an arm and a leg.
$6000 to $10,000
I believe less than 200 are known to exist!

I definitively decided for a Voigtlander SC 21/4 from CameraQuest!
Thank to all for your advises.

A LENS HOOD went, a couple years ago, on eBay for $5,000, not the lens, only the lens hood, as I understand. I think I actually saw this sale, go through. If it is true, that is amazing!

The hood for the 2.1cm is much much much rarer than the lens itself!!rogerchristian said:A LENS HOOD went, a couple years ago, on eBay for $5,000, not the lens, only the lens hood, as I understand. I think I actually saw this sale, go through. If it is true, that is amazing!
Then there's the metal hood for the 1.1....
Which one was it??

Stefano,
You'll love the CV wides. I have the 25/4 and 35/2.5. The 25/4 is my favorite wide of all time. When I moved up to an S3-2000 I added the 35mm. I'd love to get my hands on a new 35/1.8, but cash flow is just getting back to normal. Till them I very happy, low flare, good contrast, and sharp. Great price from Stephen too, he's great to deal with.
