here is my pride and joy. The Stereotar C lens looks so amazing on a Contax- an excursion into chrome and angles...
I have two issues: my contax (IIa?) needs a service. The shutter doesn't fire sometimes-0 the button just clicks. A few turns of the shutter and it fires again.
Second issue: there is a small crack at one edge of the accesory long distance prism on the Stereotar (see picture). I have just shot a few rolls of film and don't know the affect yet- not developed. I assume there is going to be some flaring at the least. I am wondering if anyone is familiar with this lens- and can tell me if this prism is repairable- or replaceable. There is a much cheaper Zeiss stereo attachment that has a very similar prism. I am guessing that the glass is not identical- but if anyone knows what I am talking about- and if it is the same- please let me know.
Finally does anyone have any idea where in the Southern Hemisphere I can get the Contax Cla'd? preferably Australia or NZ...

I know of no one in your area but the timing gears on the Contax IIa are relatively easy to work on yourself. See: http://rick_oleson.tripod.com/index-62.html
I am famous for not getting things back together but found I could successfully clean and lube the timing gears following these instructions. BTW the photo is of a Contax IIIa; it may be trickier removing the meter and the top plate.
