For only € 90,00 I bought myself a beautiful Retina IIIc at Europe's biggest open air photo-auction in Doesburg (The Netherlands). Produced in 1957 it has a one-range exposer-meter which doesn't request a slotted blind in bright light (as on the III (big) C.
Everything seems to work perfectly and I can hardly wait to load it with my first film! Has anyone experienced this rare camera?

not really as your camera is a very rare bird. Congratulations. However I had the IIIc with the Xenon-lens which is a phantastic performer and later on I bought the IIIC which has the same great lens and the one-range exposure-meter. The latter of course has the much better finder but I would not have invested the extra money for the finder but the camera itself was a find in the bay for 53 € :D. By the way the selenium cell still does its job very accurate.

I think you will have a lot of fun with the camera. The accessory front elements (35 and 80 mm) are not my cup of tea. They do de-accelerate taking picture and increase the rate of de-focussed pics in my case.

Have fun with it, it's a great camera.

Regards

Udo
