Todat I installed a demo version of Vuescan. I heard that it is possible to set the output as raw?...I cant find it.. I have a DSIV

So is it possible for example to scan all the negative in a batch and let vuescan save them automatically to a folder. And when that is all done can I open caputre one and process the raw files to jpg or tiff? That would be a great workflow...or not.?

Hope you can help me

It's a different form of RAW file than comes out of a digital camera. You *can* open it and work on it in Photoshop but it's tough to work on. It's intended that you open it later in Vuescan and reset your scanning preferences with as many variants as you wish without having to rescan the image. I once asked Ed Hamrick if Vuescan could output to the Adobe DNG raw format that would allow the kind of workflow you'd like and received this reply:

Ed Hamrick said:
It turns out that DNG files are for devices with a color filter array
(i.e. a grid of pixels where each pixel is for a single color).

However, scanners use linear arrays which produce red, green and
blue at every pixel position, so they can't be stored as DNG files.

As for where the setting is actually located, it's in the output tab. If you don't see it, then set options to "Advanced" and the checkbox will be there.
