Re-coat Summarit

I contacted focalpoint in Colorado to get an estimate on a polish and recoat of the front element of my Leitz Summarit. I attached a photo and Van said that it could be recoated and polished like new and would include any required dust removal but get the price...

$275!!! :bang:


I think I would be better off just finding a mint Summarit for that price. Does anyone else know of who will polish/recoat lenses? I did a search and "Arax" came up in a couple of threads but I was not able to find any contact info for this individual/company. Any help would be appreciated. Although I may just not worry about it if it is too expensive.

Arax are quite "cheap" in relation to others. I think it is about $15 per side plus the return shipping. The downside is that they can take a while and you need to remove the element and reassemnble the lens yourself. You can contact them direct via their website.
