I have posted a few lines on the servicing and re covering of my late Fathers camera, a Super Ikonta 1954 'C" style model in the last few months.
Well the last stage being the NEW CLOTHES has been done to perfection. I got the camera back last week and I am currently up in Whistler BC using it. GRIPTAC is just fantastic in handling terms, before I had the slick aged covering like all Ikonta's now I have this sticky like substance, holding the camera is no longer one of feeling that it could slip out of my hands. The lines where the old material had shrunk are gone and now this new material is truly covering the parts of the camera that the original material had one done.
I was down in Seattle Washington earlier in the week and an old man came up to me in a fish market and started a conversation, he had his M3 that he bought in 1956, when I told him the Ikonta was two years older, his jaw dropped, the new covering makes it look very young.
I will post a couple of images of the camera when I get back, I think a number of you will seriously consider following the path I took.
