I am getting ready to do some service on my c. 1940 National Graflex II ( 6x7 on 120 diabolical SLR), and plan on re-gluing some body-leather that has literally fallen-off ( but is still in one piece).
Part of this leather is a " U " that goes around the body aperture for the drop-bed. The camera body is die-cast, with a series of brass-rivets around the edge, each rivet having a little green mountain of corrosion on top.
I plan to clean-off said corrosion, and was thinking of "sealing" each rivet head with a drop of clear nail-polish and letting that cure a few days before re-attaching the leather. Am thinking this will prevent / retard formation of "Zeiss-bumps" in the future ...
I am planning to use Uhu-stick to re-glue.
Any reasons not to go with this plan ?

Never heard of Uhu being used. I use double sided adhesive sheets. Commonly available from art and craft outlets. It ensures the covers will always come off again if needed.
