I had not realised RD1 meter senstivity is biased to lower left. Seems strange.

I think the logic in that is sensing less sky in landscapes both in horizontal orientation and with wind-lever-up verticals.zuikologist said:

The metering pattern follows the one established for the Voigtlander M-Mount cameras: http://www.cameraquest.com/voigtbmeter.htm
