I just ordered one and sincerely hope that I don't have all the problems others have experienced. My hope is that Epson refurbs have had a little more tlc in regard to whether they meet quality control.

Anyone have any first hand experience in this regard?
 
A refurb is a camera someone returned that epson fixed by hopefully going through it with a fine tooth comb and fixing anything that could possibly be wrong.
 
This time I snagged one. The latest "news" on the M8 convinced me it's not going to be "ready for prime time" for a long time if ever. If this refurb works for a year I'll have paid for it in film/developing savings, and I can adjust the rangefinder when it needs it. By then maybe Leica (or more correctly, the early-adopter unpaid-beta-testers) will have most of the more egregious bugs worked out, or better still Leica will have to cave to pressure from low sales and put a stronger IR filter on the sensor.

hmm... i re-read my posts and still I missed that. I suppose it's a subconcious reaction to having been forced to move back to the suburbs (in sprawling LA) after years of being in the middle of the action in downtown SF.... i.e. I'm a "reburb"?
