I have two Rolleiflex MX-EVS Type 1 cameras and want to restore the leather on both. The leather is not peeling or deteriorating, although it is is dry and brown in certain locations. Prior to my purchasing conditioning products, I want to avoid any leather conditioners that can affect the glue. Someone had also mentioned a product called Venetian Black supposedly sold at Microtools, but it is no longer there. The leather on both cameras is intact, but dry and brown. I have used Mr. Sparks in Burlington, Vt. for my Leicas, but would like to try restoring this camera leather first instead of replacing it. Does anyone have any recommendations for approaches or products? Any suggestions would be welcome.

Respectfully,

Jeff

Little slow in replying... sorry. But Bickmore's "Bick-4" is the best I've ever seen for just about any kind of camera leather and/or camera cases/straps. Finally threw all the other stuff away and use this exclusively, including on my Rolleiflex and Zeiss cameras. Just a little gently rubbed in and buffed with a soft cloth (old T-shirt works great). You'll be amazed, and no silicones or other crap to screw up your camera, although I keep it away from the glass just on principle.
