I'd only used my Hi-Matic F once before, so I figured it was high time I took it out for a spin. So after checking out the battery situation I went off to the nearby Crystal Palace park.

Oh yes. This I like.

The metering system seems to have handled this pretty well.

The exposure is full auto, set the film speed using the ring around the lens, and the metering system sets aperture and shutter speed, you've got no control over that. Only focusing is manual.
It is a lovely little camera, and quite pocketable.

I really mustn't leave it two years before i use it again!

my first camera was a HI-MATIC F and I have spent a ton of money trying to recreate that experience

AJ , nice images from that little jewel . I have recently rediscovered my Hi-Matic E , so much so I bought a few more Hi-matics last week.

The shots have a nice, vintage look to them. The vintage subject matter helps too
The camera looks almost identical to a Konica C35 I just sold, but on the Konicas you can lock exposure by half depressing the shutter button. Gives you a lot of control over the metering.

AJ , thanks for the post. .Last week I dug up both my Minolta repo, a 1/2 frame and a long idle minolta F . A battery & some film and I'm ready to go. I kinda like the little battery check button in back and the light on top. Having a hot shoe adds a lot too! Happy shooting, RED (my "F" goes out w/me this week)
