Has anyone taken an LTM Jupiter 12 apart to clean and relube the focusing helical and reassembled it back correctly? I remember seeing a step by step proceedure for the Kiev/Contax mount J12, but I cannot find any info for the LTM version.

Step 5 had me stumped for a while - the DoF scale was corroded onto the lens and required a lot of force to get off.

Also, take care with the double helical to get both sides back together starting at the correct place, or the lens will not focus correctly and/or the rangefinder will be miscoupled.

Sorry I'm no help to you xayraa33. I lubed mine some time ago using the Contax/Kiev instructions and winging it. Unfortunately I didn't take any notes except the mental note that it was a Pretty Irritating Trying Adventure (PITA?) Looks like you've got some tips though. Good luck.

Where could I find the guide for lubing the Contax mount version? In my desperate attempts to get one in LTM, I bought one for my Kiev in a moment of weakness, It's in mint condition. The Kiev is very nice to use, could sway me away from being a FEDnick. Will be even better when lubed!

Kim,
My Orion came working very smoothly, but I would be interested in having your notes for one of these [rainy] days, if you care to post or PM them.

Thanks ~
