I am very new to the rangefinder experience, but I have been a photographer for years and just recently purchased a M8. I am trying to find a way to fire the M8 remotely. Any help will be appreciated.

You are still attached to the camera. I thought I have seen some sort of release, nondigital plunger type, that is fired from a wireless button.

If there is no plug socket for an electrical switch then the time honoured way is to use a pneumatic, or air, release. Buy one on ebay for about five pounds and buy longer tubing from a hardware shop. Here is the gadget itself;

These are about three feet long but by adding your own tubing you can trip the camera to at least 30 feet.

If it must be trully 'remote with no physical connection then there are some very pricey radio releases but you can make up your own by using a radio operated door bell kit and a servo from a model shop.
