Repaint jobs

And finally out my favorites on that site...
"Nikon, Nikon on the wall..."

I like the olive and the hammer tone paint, does Krylon sell hammertone in a can? 😀

Poor Canonet... what did it deserve to get that done to it.
The Red-Black M3 would be nice if the colour was reversed (black metal work and red covering).

I almost replaced the black covering on my 'blad with a deep purple.

Message from God to Earth:

"Cameras are tools for making photographs, not dolls to be dressed up."

Message from the Devil to Earth:

"So is a car for getting you from A to B - but just like with cars there is also a 'fun-/aesthetic aspect' to the tool that one normally doesn't feel for say...a chainsaw.

This 'fun-/aesthetic aspect' causes the owner to sometime paint and/or decorate the object in a way to reflecct his or hers personality - or just for fun.

Happens very rarely with chainsaws - but frequently so with cars and cameras.

So go forth and decorate your camera in any way you want"

Question to God: what is the human body for? (I hope the answer is "sex")
I decorated it with some nice tatoos. So, can I still use it for the intended purpose? (I haven't had any complaints yet, but maybe I'm just not listening)

Having been in the business of selling and repairing chainsaws since I was 12, I can aggree with the assertion that chainsaws are rarely decorated or painted to reflect the owners personality. Sometimes we see an owners name or numbers scratched into a saw to discourage resale after theft, but this is not the same as the glass bead decorated Argus I recently viewed.
It seems to me that the difference is that a chainsaw represents WORK, that we just don't want to do. Back breaking, shoulder burning, ear splitting, inherently dangerous work. This can seldom be said about photography (unless you've carried a Minolta XK motor). Photography is our creative outlet, our way to create and capture images in our world, so I guess it's more natural to lavish a little pride and our extend our personalities to our photographic tools.
