As you know the Minox 35 GTE Minoxar is a very good lens, however the integrated skylight filter is not good - too much reflection - single coated or uncoated? I have been thinking how to swap it out (or cut a hole in the center) for a while.
I have a few Contax 30.5 MC UV filter in mint condition for my Rollei 35 S, which have slight large glass than other 30.5 filters. Then I made a measurement: the GTE sklylight filter has a 29 mm diameter for the flat portion (30 mm including the rounded edge), the Contax also has a 29 mm diameter. Maybe we can use the Contax to replace the original.
So questions: how to remove the original one? Heat gun? Soldering iron on the glass at the glued portion? What glue/cement to use to glue the new one back?
