Since yet another of my favorite films has been discontinued ( in 120 format ), I'd like to find a replacement. I was wondering what you all think might be a film that has a lot of the qualities of Plus-X in 120 format. I'm wondering if T-Max 100 and Acros 100 are too "modern" looking to capture the same look? I've never used either, but from what I've seen and read/heard, they are.

Anybody have any ideas?

Although not the same in many ways, Tmax 100 is all that, I think Kodak has; but my friend uses Ilford FP4, or whatever it is, and is very happy.

I really think that PlusX and Tmax 100 are tonally different, but I'm not an expert. Here are two the first is PlusX and the second is Tmax 100:

So how does FP4 differ from HP5+? I know that they're different types of film, but different in what ways? I never used FP4 simply because I used Plus-X as my slow speed, so never really gave the Ilford stuff a second look.

I've used the Fomapan film ( and like it ) but I can't use it in my Rolleiflex as the adhesive at the end of the film always sticks to the plate. It's a shame, as I really like the Fomapan 200.

FP4+ and Plus-X occupy the same spots in their respective lineups. Much like HP5+ and Tri-X do. I.e., FP4+ is the ISO 125 traditional grain film that Ilford sells.
