I have an md-2 that needs a new covering but most sites don’t seem to have it as an option to purchase. Wondering if anyone here knows if the m4-2 skin would fit?

It would fit but have a hole for the frame preview lever.
Some of the producers may be using a laser cutter and could possibly avoid making the hole - try to reach out to them.

Aki-Asahi offers coverings cut for an MDa, which would be the same as your MD-2. However, Japan Post will currently not ship to most countries outside of Japan due to COVID.
