I was pleasantly surprised (again) at how easy it's been to take clear & focused photos with this camera. (I'm even more in love now!)

Conditions were sunny with clouds. The second photo looks overexposed, but acceptable. I did not change camera settings on either shot so please feel free to offer suggestions on adjustments if needed.
Shutter speed: 500 / Aperture: 11 / Distance: infinity
 
very nice colors, details and sharpness. This Retinas don't look like they could do such picturequality. Several weeks ago I had a look on a IIa and thought that it looks very oldfashioned....than I watched some examples at flickr.com and was highly surprised, what excellent pictures it makes.

Thank you, cweg! You are right. The photo quality is really surprising. Well, for me, it's surprising because I don't know what I'm doing yet. When I try manual settings on my digital cams, I don't have this kind of success.

Do you own any Retinas or still looking at any? I become so obsessed when I want something and think I need to see every single one that I can find on the net.

I made the same experience, when I changed from digital to film, everything is so easy :)

I'm actually not looking for a Retina cause I just bought a Yashica CC, but a Retina IIa is still on my wishlist.

I tweaked your second Pic a little, hoping it's ok for you, if not, I'm deleting it.

No! I don't mind. It looks very nice. My husband has a Yashica rangefinder that he bought when he was in the Navy in the early 70s. He's going to get back into film, too.

Someday I plan to go back to South Texas to shoot. Haven't been there in years..
 
Nice photos dcampbell! I'm trying to just stop with one Retina (IIa)... as hard as that is. Wonderful cameras IMO.
 
Nice shots ! I have yet to run color film through my Retina IIIc. I need to sort out the sticky aperture blades first.

Thanks! I appreciate the feedback. I feel like I'm running out of photo material, then remind myself that real photographers see material everywhere. ;) We do have a variety of outdoor photo ops.

Thanks! I know what you mean and this probably is not the best place to hang out if you're trying to avoid the temptation to buy more Retinas. :D

Thanks! I will do better at framing with the small rangefinder and hope to have more creative photos to post. I'm sorry about the sticky aperture blade. I see here that some of you work on your own cameras. That is impressive. The only way that I could find the nerve to open one would be if I had one that was junk and I don't think junk Retinas exist. :D I could only find color film here and could not wait to shoot.

I had thread deja vu. I thought I had already replied to all but nextreme's post. :rolleyes:
