I found locally a very cheap Retina IIIS, which needs repair. I was thinking of using parts from a Retina Reflex, with collaboration from my friendly technician. Would this be too crazy?
If not, would the Retina Reflex S be the closest model in terms of mechanisms and parts?
Thanks for any comment!

Many of the parts are the same. I repaired my IIIS using the latch from a Reflex-S, and replaced the meter of the IIIS with one from the Reflex-S. So- a Reflex-S is a good parts donor.

Thanks for the advice, Brian. Now, I need to look for a Reflex S parts body!
Funny to remember that I used briefly a Reflex S back in 1968. It was on loan, for a trip. Shot my first slide film in that camera!
