I was dumb to sell my CV 21mm Skopar last year...I decided to get the 15mm Heliar instead, even though my favorite roll ever was shot with the Skopar. And though the Heliar is a great lens, I already had a good SLR lens at that focal length, and I dislike using accessory finders. In the end, I unloaded the Heliar, and bought the new M-mount CV 21mm, which is the widest lens with its own frameline on the R4A--and the R4A the only camera that has a 21mm frameline.
Ahhhh...I immediately fell right into the old rhythm. I love this focal length, and I love it on this camera. They are made for each other. (I would get an Ikon if it went this wide--hint hint, Zeiss--but the R4A is a superb performer.) Even just shooting a test roll in the woods was a joy.

The only time I've done that so far was with the Bessa L; sold it, regretted it instantly, bought another six months later.

It's funny- the only lens I did this with was the 15mm Heliar. I bought one several years ago, but decided it was too wide for most of what I do with it and foolishly sold it. Later, I got the CV 21 (LTM) and it sees plenty of use; but every once in a while I regretted selling the little 15. I bought another when I found a good deal on one; and though I don't use it that often, I'll keep it. Sometimes nothing else will get the shot I want.
It has never occurred to me to sell the 21, and I won't- for me, it's a far more useful FL. The R4x is a tempting camera- especially for use with the 21- but I don't mind using the top mounted finders with lenses this wide, since scale and zone focusing them is a snap. Anyway, with two M3's, a Bessa L and a T, I have more than enough bodies to work with.
What I really want to add to my kit is an M2; but even if I sell my L and T, I wouldn't net enough to buy one. If I sold a lens I don't use every month for two or three hundred bucks, the money would soon be spent and the gear just gone- so what's the point? When I get hard up for cash, I try to sell more prints or pick up another job, not sell gear that I might miss; I'm trying to learn my lesson on this front.

I sold my original Mamiya SD rangefinder years ago, after going SLR (Spotmatic at the time). I started kicking myself for doing that in 2004, but I had forgotten the exact model. I went on a quest for another one. The folks at Usenet rec.photo.35mm steered me here. I eventually did get another SD, in addition to a GIII, eventually two of them.

But seriously - I have to yet sell a lens or camera (OK, save for the Caltar II-E 210/6.8 for my 4x5, but it was replaced with a Fujinon 240/9 A).
But should I ever sell my Rolleiflex T I know already I will regret it ...
